The Broad Strokes

In July 2015, we launched an innovative place-based media opportunity at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (BBTCA), and we’re pretty excited about it.  Spread throughout the new complex are a series of state-of-the-art digital advertising displays that can interact with the Billy Bishop mobile app to deliver customized content for travellers as they move through the facility. We want to showcase our unique advertising platform, and we need people with creativity and technical savvy to do it.

That’s where your agency comes in

Create a campaign for one of your charity/not-for-profit clients that makes our platform seem like the next big thing in place-based advertising (which it is), and you could win your client $250,000 in media* at the airport. If you’re serious about winning this thing, blow people away. We don’t just mean our judging panel of award-winning creatives; we’re talking about the travellers who use Billy Bishop. The Challenge

Create an advertising campaign for a not-for-profit organization or charity that pushes the boundaries of our place-based media/mobile platform

The Prize

The winning creative will run in the new facility in 2016. ($250,000 value in media)

All Canadian agencies and their not-for-profit/charity clients

The Fine Details


  • Entry must incorporate tunnel screens, a minimum of one other signage feature and integration with the Billy Bishop mobile app.
  • Judging will be completed in two phases:

Phase One – Entries will be judged to produce a Top 5

Phase Two – Top 5 teams will be taken on a tour of the facility and asked to submit a more detailed proposal including a full media plan outlining how you will use the $250,000 prize media

  • Participants must be Canadian agencies with an existing relationship with a Charity/NFP client.
